Presidential Oaks
A snowscape of our beautiful building reminds us of our roots . . . What do you know about the Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F) and the Odd Fellows Home? We think it’s high time we help tell the story because without them, Presidential Oaks would not exist in the way it does today!Presidential Oaks dates back to the late 1800’s. It was established in 1887 as a home for indigent men, women and orphans under the auspices of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. An organization steeped in care and service. Presidential Oaks was once known as the Odd Fellows Home.Over time, the rich culture of caring and service to others that the Odd Fellows established, has evolved into our wonderful skilled nursing facility known today as Presidential Oaks. Our history sets the tone for what we believe and how we show up in service. Our home is not just a place to go or to stay. It is a place to live, to be cared for and to find the joy through the challenges that accompany the aging process. It is our goal to foster a feeling of inclusion, to ensure that families feel welcome when they visit, to help ease and minimize pain and suffering. To acknowledge the hard times and help our residents see that good times still exist. These are some of the things that define us at our core as an institution. Over the next month, we will be sharing more about the history of the odd fellows and the stories of our residents. Our hearts are full and our doors open! Come for a visit, won’t you?!#OddFellows #oddfellowshome ... See MoreSee Less
